Our Winterscape concert is intended to stir memories and thrills of this magic time of year. Midnight Sleighride is a jazz rendition of Prokofiev's Troika. Fergal Carroll's Winter Dances highlights the three peak months of the season. Aurora Borealis by Rossano Galante portrays the glory of this light show in the sky. Hanukkah is celebrated with The Eighth Candle by Steve Reisteter. Traditional themes of Christmas are highlighted in Claude T. Smith's Symphonic Prelude on Adeste Fidelis and 'Twas in the Moon of Wintertime by Robert W. Smith, an interpretation of the Huron Carol. Classics of the wind band literature include Ralph Vaughan Williams Folk Song Suite and Little English Girl by Davide Delle Cese, and Variants on a Mediaeval Tune by Norman Dello Joio.
